Get involved

From workshops for little gardeners to food growing courses, plant swaps, permaculture classes and evenings around the campfire; there’s lots to get involved with!

The best way to find about events, volunteering opportunities and ways to get involved is by signing up to our newsletter or following us on social media.

The garden couldn’t run without the support of our brilliant volunteers and we’re always glad to have extra help!

1. Get busy in the garden!

We run volunteer sessions every Sunday. Get to know the garden, discover secret spots and help with everything from planting to pruning, weeding and harvesting – with plenty of tea breaks too!

Our current sessions are detailed here.

2. Join our Food Growing programme

This a brilliant opportunity for anyone interested to learn more about growing and harvesting food. Each year a group of committed volunteers join our weekly sessions, where a professional food grower guides you through the essentials for successful food growing.

Course updates will be shared via our newsletter.

3. Join our committee

The garden is run by dedicated volunteers who operate in working groups.

Perhaps you could lend a hand constructing growing beds and implementing water irrigation? Or maybe you’re an expert in fundraising and finance?

Click here for further details of our working groups.

  • Join a working group and share your expertise.
  • Become a garden host to help lead Sunday volunteer sessions.
  • Join the teams taking care of our chickens and bees.

4. Become a friend of GWG

By contributing a few pounds a month, you can help us continue to grow and flourish.

There are lots of exciting plans for the future, with new workshops and sessions designed to bring the community together, educate and inspire.

We’d love you to be part of it – and couldn’t do it without your support. Click here for further details.
