This Saturday 19th September, we will be holding our Grown in Peckham Fundraiser from 2-5pm. The fundraiser will include a pottery sale, plant sale (house plants, garden plants and herbs), quality bric a brac, homemade jams made from the garden’s fruit, cake, and guided tours from our food growers.
All proceeds from the sale will go towards helping fund future food growing traineeships, as part of the garden’s Grown In Peckham food growing project. Each week, our trainee food growers deliver fresh fruit and veg, herbs and salad bags to Southwark Food Bank, and more recently, to Peckham Pantry. This year we ran a series of food-growing modules, each lasting six weeks, and are currently fundraising in order to do more.
Social distancing will be in place, and limited numbers will be allowed into the garden at any one time.
This event is part of the European-wide Day for Sustainable Communities; on the same day we are also taking part in the Social Farms and Gardens Virtual Harvest Festival, which you can find out more about here.
