It ain’t over in October

We are a busy bunch in the garden, harvesting beans, rocket, tomatoes, squash, the last of the cucumbers and potatoes and starting to tidy the place up a bit. Things are winding down, and we’ve started planning our winter crops  of broad beans, peas and winter salads.

Del Boy the local traveller cob. His regular deposits have added growing power to the garden.

A cheery weeder.

Giant pumpkin with empty beehive (hopefully bees will come next spring).

The deep.  Weeds, and strangely lemons are often found bobbing in the pond, left perhaps by the mystery gin drinker.

Luscious lettuces.

Milk thistle amongst the tomatillos.

Tiny purple tomatillos -see the recipe for salsa on our food page.
