Some good news has been making its way around the garden this week!
Following the isolation of 2020, we’ve been working on a project to re- engage and uplift the community and ensure the garden is a place where everyone can come together.
We’ve been sharing details of the campaign on our social media page and many of you have kindly shown support for the project by liking the page and pledging a donation.
We’re delighted to have secured a £10,000 pledge from the Mayor of London’s Make London fund; this bring us to over £19,000 raised of our £20,000 goal.
If we reach our goal, we plan to purchase and convert a used shipping container to serve as a learning space and hub for the community. A schedule of new activities and events for all age groups is being planned – not only related to gardening but exploring wellbeing, art, food, crafting and more.
As part of our commitment to sustainable development, we’ll be using reclaimed and recycled materials, installing solar panels, a rainwater harvesting system, green roof and exterior living walls.
For full details – and to support the project, please take a look at our Spacehive page to make a pledge or share with friends and family. You can also find our press release below.
