Food growing at the garden during Covid-19

Because of Covid-19, we have suspended all public access to the garden. But we are still carrying out some essential food growing. For several years we have grown food for the local foodbank in Peckham. As the economic impact of coronavirus starts to hit, and more people start to lose their income, we think it’s more important than ever to keep doing this.

We are carrying out our food growing with a small number of core volunteers who are adhering to government guidelines around social distancing in the garden and working according to strict hygiene rules. If you are interested in what these are, you can download our Covid-19 food growing policy here.

If you would like to help support our work growing food for local foodbanks during this difficult time, you can become a Friend of Glengall Wharf Garden for just a few pounds a month. This money helps us buy supplies and equipment to continue our food growing.
